BYOB Wine Dinners - See Below for BYOB details, pricing and starting time
Start searching now for some goodies at your local wine shop and put `em away for the tastings you
want to attend.
Sun. August 6 - Rose' ($15-24) "Tapas"
Now for something completely different. Let's taste some Rose'. We're not talkin' White Zinfandel here. Serious Rose'. France, Spain, Italy all produce   nice stuff. Find one and bring it.

Weds. Aug. 23 - BYOFBCR "Meat, Tomata's & Corn"
Our season closer will highlight Jersey's finest at its' best: Tomatoes and Corn in August.
Bring em if you grow em and David will cook em up fresh.

For those unfamiliar with our "BYO tastings," here is how it works.

Each participant brings a bottle of wine of the appropriate style. Upon check in, the bottle will taken by the Blue Sky staff, numbered and bagged. The tasting is double blind. The bottles are mixed and numbered randomly, then  poured during the course of the meal in "flights." In this way, everyone gets to taste every wine, taking notes and discussing the qualities of each wine with all the other guests. During dinner, everyone votes for their favorite   wine, and the bottles are unveiled during dessert. The person who brings the winning wine receives a gift certificate for a return trip to Blue Sky.

All of the tastings are price fixed at $39, gratuity is not included.
The dollar amount in brackets( ) is the suggested price range for each bottle of wine.
Tastings start at 7:00 except on Sundays. Sunday tastings start at 6:00
Please make reservations by phone. 973-746-2553

German Riesling - $20
David's Yellow Brick Toad, Lambertville, NJ 1.800.The Toad

Guest Speaker: Steve Miller, Marketing Directo for Lauber Imports

Recent articles in Time and The Star Ledger have announced that American wine consumers
don't know what they are missing when they ignore Riesling. Most of us freeze when we see a wine label
we can't pronounce and can't understand. Worse, there is the serious misconception that all German wines are too sweet.

In fact, German Rieslings range from very sweet, dessert wines to quite dry. They have an appealing and complex fruit profile balanced by brisk and lively acidity that makes them an excellent compliment to a wide range of foods. Riesling dances across the palate where oak-laden Chardonnays too often plod.

You will dance with eight wines from dry to sweet. The dance instructor, Steve Miller, is a life long lover and expert on Riesling and he intends to explode the myths, blow away the smoke and teach us how to appreciate this noble grape variety.

Pol Roger Champagne - $75
David's Yellow Brick Toad, Lambertville, NJ 1.800.The Toad

The House of Pol Roger was founded in 1849 by Pol Roger who had began making wine the year before at the young age of 18. The present owners are great grandsons of the founder. The Champagne house is one of the few still privately owned.

Sir Winston is the prestige Cuvee of the house. The cuvee was created as a tribute to the great man,
as he was a close friend of the Pol Roger family and a long time consumer of the Champagne.
You will taste the 1988 Sir Winston and David will bring a magnum of 1979 from home.

You will taste the flagbearer Non Vintage, a 1990 rose Champagne, Brut Vintage 1990,
1988 Brut Chardonnay and a Special Millinium Cuvee. Many of the wines have been reviewed
with none receiving less than 90 points. This is Champagne of the highest quality.
